First you&#8217;ll need to be running Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 (32 or 64bit). You&#8217;ll also need a 2GB or larger USB flash drive. And you&#8217;ll need some knowledge of computers. This is not a tip for beginners. But if you&#8217;re an adventurous beginner, you won&#8217;t hurt anything if you try this tip. All of us were beginners at one time and you can learn more by trying and failing than you&#8217;re ever going to learn by not trying at all. So if you&#8217;re a beginner give it a shot.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, 'Sans Serif';\">So let&#8217;s get started: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, 'Sans Serif';\">Creating a rescue USB or CD from which you can boot your PC to scan  \t\t\tand remove a bad malware or virus infection &#8211; or so you can access  \t\t\tfiles on your computer in the event it becomes unbootable is a great  \t\t\tidea. Many security companies offer free anti-virus rescue programs  \t\t\tin the form of ISO files which you can use to make a bootable CD,  \t\t\tDVD, or USB flash Drive.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, 'Sans Serif';\"> Most of you know how to make a CD or DVD from an ISO (CD image  \t\t\tfile). And you can download any of the many free rescue ISOs  \t\t\tavailable from security companies like Kaspersky, Avira,  \t\t\tBitDefender, AVG and others.<\/p>\n<p>Avira offers a free antivirus scanner as an ISO file which you can  \t\t\tuse to create a bootable CD, DVD or flash drive, and then use it to  \t\t\tboot your computer and remove viruses and other malware infections.  \t\t\tIt also lets you boot your computer if it becomes unbootable for  \t\t\tother reasons and save files from it.<\/p>\n<p>In this tip we&#8217;re going to show you how to create a bootable USB  \t\t\tflash drive.<\/p>\n<p>Things you&#8217;ll need:<\/p>\n<p>1. A 2GB or larger USB flash drive &#8211; preferably with nothing on it.<br \/>\n2. \t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.avira.com\/en\/support-download-avira-antivir-rescue-system\"> Avira Rescue System Rescue ISO (free)<\/a><br \/>\n3. <a href=\"http:\/\/unetbootin.sourceforge.net\/\">UNetbootin to create  \t\t\tbootable USB drive<\/a><br \/>\n4. Laptop\/Netbook\/Computer with USB boot option (Here is the way to  \t\t\tadd USB boot<br \/>\n5. Change you PC or Laptops boot configuration to boot in this  \t\t\torder:<br \/>\na. CD-ROM\/DVD Drive<br \/>\nb. USB Drive<br \/>\nc. Primary hard drive<br \/>\n(Watch your boot screen next time you boot your computer, normally  \t\t\tyou press your F12 key during boot to get into computer setup where  \t\t\tyou change your boot order)<br \/>\n6. If your computer does not offer a USB boot option, \t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.plop.at\/en\/bootmanager.html\">see this page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>How to Create Avira Rescue System Rescue USB drive<\/p>\n<p>1. Download Avira Rescue System Rescue ISO &#8211; keep it on your desktop<br \/>\n2. Download UNetbootin and save it to your desktop<br \/>\n3. Make sure you have a 2GB or larger USB drive in your computer<br \/>\n4. Start UNetbootin and select Diskimage option and browse and  \t\t\tlocate the Avira Rescue System rescue iso file you downloaded in  \t\t\tstep #1.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, 'Sans Serif';\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> <span style=\"font-family: Arial, 'Sans Serif';\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px initial initial;\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2011\/rescue.png\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"379\" height=\"284\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>UNetbootin will auto-detect any USB drives plugged into your  \t\t\tcomputer. After you complete this step, your USB drive will be  \t\t\tbootable. You should restart your computer with the USB flash drive  \t\t\tplugged into your computer to ensure that your computer boots from  \t\t\tthe flash drive.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, 'Sans Serif';\">If you want to create a  \t\t\tbootable CD or DVD from the Avira rescue ISO, use your favorite  \t\t\tCD\/DVD burner software to create the bootable CD\/DVD.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Things you&#8217;ll need.
