Gerald gets an annoying popup from Malwarebytes about a blocked Web site.
Hello……can you please assist me. Not the end of the earth, but yet totally annoying.
Each time I log into Google Chrome I receive a pop up telling me that Malwarebytes has blocked a potential threat….207 232 22 60. This appears to come from Elron Technologies based in Hebron, Israel.
As I have said it is annoying, as I use Google Chrome as my search provider throughout the day. I cannot find a way to make Malwarebytes ignore this because I have added Google to their ignore list, but still the pop up arrives……Is their any other way to stop this without interfering with the registry as I do not feel informative enough to be able to tamper with registry.?
Since you fixed my computer online some couple of months back, all has been running fine. Thanks again. Gerald
Our answer
There are two “Elron Technologies” — one is a venture capital firm located in Israel and the other is a Web hosting company in Israel. In your case it is most likely the latter that Malwarebytes is blocking — and you’re probably getting it because you have installed something on your computer from one of the sites that Elron hosts….

What does this notification mean? This notification means nothing more than an IP address has been blocked. It does NOT mean you are infected, it means a program on your computer, for example a browser add-on, an instant messenger program, or one of the program’s listed above tried accessing a malicious IP address.
You probably should shut not off Malwarebytes Website blocking — although we’re incredulous about such things, since we don’t know how Malwarebytes decides which sites get blocked and which don’t. Hopefully they don’t rely on a forum-based method such as WOT does. For now, we’d suggest you leave Malwarebytes website blocking feature enabled and just disable the popup notifications — which is what is really annoying you. That way the communication between whatever is installed on your computer and Elron Technologies is being blocked — but you’re not getting annoying popups every time it’s blocked.
Here’s how to disable the popups without disabling website blocking:
1. Open Malwarebytes
2. Click on the Protection tab
3. Uncheck the last item — “Show tooltip balloon when malicious website is blocked”
4. Click the exit button rather than the X at the top right to close the window.
We hope this helps you, Gerry.
