Taking Screen Shots Just Got Easier With Windows 8

By | October 29, 2012

Since the modern era of Windows began with Windows 95, taking screen shots with Windows meant you had to press the screen print key, then open up MS Paint or a 3rd-party application and paste in your screen shot.

Windows 8 has finally stepped up and made this a much simpler process. If you press the Windows Key + Print Screen (or Windows Key + Volume Down on a tablet computer) Windows will grab the screen shot and automatically save it in your Pictures folder as a PNG file. While it’s not nearly as feature-full as something like FastStone Capture, it’s great for capturing a simple screen shot in a hurry.

That’s great news, however is there anyway of saving the pics as a JPEG rather than a PNG?
