A Site and a Service With Appeal

Reme IO

We have no idea what Reme IO means. EB says it means Red Eye Myopic Eye – Impending Operation. She’s an R.N. too. Luckily not MY R.N.  But anyway, this is the first site we’ve ever found where its description (hidden away in a PDF file) takes longer to understand than the site. This site is about as self-explanatory as a banana. (EB! What I mean is that you don’t need instructions on a banana to peel it, do you? Where do you buy your bananas? )

Anyway, Reme IO lets you send yourself reminders by email, quickly and easily. And you don’t even have to get an account. Anyone can use it and you can use it as much as you need it. I sent myself a reminder to remind EB I’m working hard at 4:30 PM. I did this because I’m going to be out and about, but EB was going a new full-service flogging equipment store today and she’d love to practice on me. Luckily, for me, I found this site and when EB gets my email reminder at 4:30 tomorrow, she’ll think I’m hard at work and she’ll (hopefully) forget about flogging me for a day or two.

ENOUGH!

Here’s a picture of the site’s main page – as beautifully simplistic as it is functional:

See? It’s like a banana. You don’t need no stinkin’ instructions. You do need to sign up for an account through – but it’s free. I understand why they need you to sign up…they don’t need no stinkin’ spammers either.

Now it’s time to introduce you to Sorin Pantiş, Tamás Pap, Ioan Lucuţ. and their team of dancing squirrels:

We are a small team of 3 and we’re really passioned about building Reme. Our main goal is to make our users happy (that’s you!) and we hope you like using it. If you’d like to say hi, here we are.

And in case you’re a xenophobe, this site was made with love in Cluj-Napoca.

Ready to remind yourself to send beer to TC or smiley faces to EB?  Or better yet, just send money. But perhaps you just want to remind yourself of something else important…like buying bananas just because Reme IO has appeal.

Go to Reme IO and remind yourself of anything anytime.

But isn’t it just as simple – or simpler – to just type myself an email? That’s the way I do it now. But thanks anyway.

Hey if you know an easy way to send yourself a reminder 2 months from now at 8;30AM and have it automatically sent to yourself, share it with us all – we’d love to know how to do that with nothing but an email program.
