How to Find Out if Your Lenovo or Dell PC is Compatible with Windows 10 Version 2004
As most of you know by now, the Windows 10 May 2020 “Feature update” (MS Windows 10 Version 2004) was released in late May. None but the most intrepid have installed the May 2020 update. If you haven’t yet installed it, you might want to do yourself a favor and read the information on this page.
HOW DELL and LENOVO COMPUTER USERS CAN FIND OUT IF THEIR DEVICES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE WINDOWS 10 MAY 2020 UPDATE
If you are using a Lenovo or Dell PC and you have not yet installed the Windows 10 May 2020 Update – Windows 10 version 1004 – you can find out if your PC is compatible with the latest Windows 10 feature update.
If you have a Lenovo computer, go to the Lenovo support page, where you’ll find a tool, which lets you enter the serial number of your Lenovo PC and you’ll eventually learn if your computer is compatible with the May 2020 Update. According to Lenovo, the Windows 10 May 2020 Update has been tested in five different Lenovo product categories — Lenovo Notebook/Ideapad, ThinkCentre & AIO, ThinkPad laptops, IdeaCentre & AIO, ThinkStation.
If you have a Dell PC, visit the Dell support page, and the rest of the process is similar to the Lenovo compatibility check above.
I have a Lenovo and when I checked to see if my computer is compatible it says
End of Development Support
This product is no longer being actively supported by development (End of Development Support) and no further updates will be provided. Any resources provided by Lenovo for this product are made available “AS IS” and without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In no case will Lenovo be liable for the failure of any provided resources to function as expected or intended and the loss of, or damage to, data. Does this mean I cannot or should not have this Windows 10 May 2020 Update – Windows 10 version 1004 installed??

Hi TC/Darcy, I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M57 9174 Aiu S/N LKFNDWC which also shows as support discontinued. Except for adding more RAM and cjanging from Windows Vista to Windows 10 no other changes were made. I have a dual boot system with LINUX . A Boot Menu allows me to select 4 versuions of LINUX and /or Windows 10. I keep it up to date in Updates and my first attempt to go to 2004 seemed to be successfull using the Update Assistant,till the next update then I lost audio, Defender was turned off ( wouldn’t turm back on) and access to some features. I waited for 7 to 10 days and no other updates came through to correct these problems . I restored version 1909 from a backup and used the Update assistant again, everything went smoothly . I had to turn on System Restore and change some privacy settings back. I only use Defender , check all files downloaded, check Maintenance for hardware problems if any and use all scans at least every month. Maybe its luck or good house-keeping. Thanks for all your help and advice through the years I’ve benefitted financially and with peace of mind enjoy my computing. Rex
