Quickly find out what that Windows error code means (Windows XP through Windows 8)

By | August 11, 2012

So you have a problem and Microsoft, always wanting to be helpful, gives you an error code you can sit there an look at — something like 1KBX412043G. So you try to copy and paste it in Google or Bing or whatever and you will probably find yourself on some forum somewhere were 9 out of 10 people don’t know any more than you do — but they think they do. And if you’re lucky you’ll find someone who actually knows what they’re talking about — and hopefully speaks English. And another thing, just because someone has the initials MSMVP after their name — doesn’t mean they know what they’re doing. Kind of like just because someone has the initials MD after their name doesn’t mean they know what they’re doing.

If you are one of those people who get frustrated by arcane Windows Error codes, Error Goblin will be a blessing for you. Error Goblin can help you figure out what those error codes mean — and that can help you solve the problem that is causing the error. Error Goblin not only help you figure out Windows error codes but also for Mac error codes too. (Wait! I thought Mac had no errors!). Error Goblin runs as both a service and a desktop application. It’s web interface neat and simple; you only need to enter the error code it will show the result along with similar errors.

Doggone it. I haven’t had any error codes in a long time so all I can give you is a screen shot!

You don’t have the correct Microsoft dot NET FRAMEWORK installed.

I tried to download Error Goblin as a Run and a window titled Application Error – Error Goblin(2).exe. read: The Application failed to initialize properly (Oxc0000135). Click on OK to terminate application. I did a Save to my desktop with the same result. I have no clue as to what happened. Any suggestions?

You don’t have the necessary Microsoft NET Framework installed or it’s not installed properly.

I am having exactly the same problem and get the exact same message as in Joan’s reply.
I deleted it and tried re-downloading it, again with the same result.

I can’t even download it. Yes I know, “Microsoft Net Framework” is not installed properly. How does one install it properly. It seems that on windows XP when they download (try to download)Microsoft
updates nothing works (meaning all red xxxs) and yes Net Framework I cannot update.
