LastPass
Password manager and a whole lot more

Now I’ve been using LastPass for the last three-and-a-half years now, and I’m perfectly happy with it. I am perfectly happy with not knowing any of my LastPass generated complex passwords. If someone tied me to a stake and drove bamboos shoots into my toenails, I couldn’t save myself because I really don’t know what my passwords are. Most of them look like this:

NV88%41LBjaT4

I love it. Who in the world is going to remember that or guess that? No one. That’s want I want. All I ever have to remember is my master password to LastPass and all my other passwords are unlocked – but only for me. And when I visit a Web site that requires a username and password, LastPass fills it in for me – automatically.

Oh really? You say your browser does that for you? And what happens when your kids, grandkids or someone else uses your browser. Do you have it set up to require a master password before you auto-login to your accounts? Does your browser generate strong, uncrackable passwords? Does your browser have a Secure Notes feature where you can store sensitive information in encrypted form? No? Your browser was free, and so is LastPass so why are you still using your browser’s password manager anyway? If you’re using your browser’s built-in password manager on a laptop, you’re taking an even bigger chance – unless you’re one of the astute ones who knows how to password protect your browser’s password store. And no we’re not going to tell you how to do that – because storing your passwords in your browser doesn’t give you the security or the features of LastPass. You still wouldn’t have a password generator – which generates and remembers complex strong passwords. And you still wouldn’t have a Secure Notes feature.

If you’re not using a password manager (and we know many of you are not), please don’t put it off any longer. There are no excuses. The freeware version of LastPass will do everything you need a password manager to do, and then some. It works with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 — and yes, it works with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. And even more importantly, it’s easy to use, easy to figure out, and it works great?

LastPass is a great password manager – and the freeware version does everything you need a password manager to do. Read more about and/or download LastPass by visiting this page.

Come on, people! Really, it’s time to shore-up those defenses. You need passwords even you can’t remember…let LastPass remember them for you. It never forgets!

Photoscape
A professional quality photo editor

If photo and image editing is something you like to do, or need to do, or want to learn to do, you can’t go wrong with Photoscape. It’s free, it’s easy-to-use, and it has many of the features you’ll find on programs costing $50.00 or more. But, you, my friend, don’t have to cough up a single dime for Photoscape.

We’re so sorry that the developer of this program has chosen to clutter up his pages with all sorts of download buttons that download all sorts of worthless, even harmful things. We’re sorry but we’re not even going to send you to the developer’s site to get Photoscape.  You can download it from SnapFiles … but please read the notice on SnapFiles about 3rd-party software. Photoscape’s installer – at times – tries to install 3rd-party software during installation. Please use care when installing and make sure you uncheck any pre-checked promotional software or other 3rd-party software.  . Photoscape is a 20.6 MB download. Photoscape works on Windows 7,  Windows 8x, and Windows 10 and on both 32 and 64-bit computers.

PLEASE NOTE: We have NOT tested this program since 05/16/2013.

Geek Uninstaller
Uninstalls programs completely

We all know that when we use Control Panel’s uninstall a program feature, it simply runs the program’s own uninstaller. In most cases, this is guaranteed to leave dozens of files behind on your computer and in your registry. Who needs all that junk? That’s why we’ve been recommending you use a good uninstaller for years. And for years we have recommended Revo Uninstaller (free version). But we think Geek Uninstaller is a little better because it’s faster and it’s easier to use. This is not to take anything away from Revo.

Geek Uninstaller is as simple to use selecting the program you want to remove from a list and double-clicking it to start the uninstallation process. Also, another feature we like in Geek is the forced uninstallation. This comes in handy when a program’s uninstaller is missing – which seems to happen all too frequently.

Geek Uninstaller comes in two flavors, a free version and a paid version. The free version will do everything you need it to do. And so today, we’re listing Geek Uninstaller as one of our top ten freeware picks of all time. Yay for Geek!

You can get more information and/or download Geek Uninstaller from http://geekuninstaller.com/  .

Geek comes as a zip file. No installation is required. Just unzip it and click on Geek.exe . If you’re wise, you’ll right-click on Geek.exe and choose “Pin to start menu”. If you’re using Windows 7 or Windows 8, you can also choose “Pin to taskbar”. If you’re really persnickety, you can right-click and choose “Send to” “Desktop (create shortcut)”.

I couldn’t get the hang of LastPass. I have never understood how to get started, or what to do when I visit a site for which I already have a password. Something is eluding me, so I cling to the cumbersome method of typing in the ones that don’t remember me.

Same here, installed Last Pass and it said my email was already in use (despite never having it before and Im also using a 6 month old computer) so I tried the recover password option and it sent me a temporary passowrd which it wouldn’t accept because Last Pass said my browser (Chrome)wasn’t updated ?????? Using W8 – I’ll find something else guys – thanks, love your work too

Last Pass does not have a “recover password” feature nor does it have anything to do with email. It doesn’t tell you that your Chrome browser is not up to date. So I am not sure what you’re talking about, but I’m sure you’re not talking about Last Pass. Sounds to me like you clicked an advertisement labeled “Download” on a site offering Last Pass, so I’m not really sure what you’re commenting on, only sure you’re not commenting on the free version of Last Pass.

I have had “RoboForm” for many years now (you guys used to recommend it) I love the program, it works as it is supposed to and I was able to purchase the “paid” version some years ago. The real draw back is that it is not supported by the “Chrome” service. I would like to know if it is by “Mozilla Firefox”
I tried “Last Pass” when I was using “Chrome” (which I no longer use either) but was not happy with it at all. Maybe I have just been spoiled by a program that does what I expect it to do. Sure am glad you told me about it a long time ago, I do not know if they still offer a free version but I think it was worth buying.
Love everything you guys do for us and would not even know how to use my computer if it had not been for you, please keep up the good work!

Used it for a while now and it is great. Only have to remember my one password. Be sure and check the settings so you can use it like you want. They have a paid version but don’t know why one would want it because this does everything one needs.
