If you use Google Chrome, heads up.

A severe “zero-day” vulnerability has been discovered in the browser, potentially exposing over 2 billion users worldwide to cyberattacks. Google’s Threat Analysis Group identified that hackers are actively exploiting a weakness in Chrome’s V8 engine—the component responsible for running website code—to execute harmful commands on Windows computers. Because this is a zero-day threat, attackers were already using the bug before a fix was available, making immediate action essential.

To protect against this risk, Google has deployed an emergency security update for all Windows users. It is important to note that while the update often downloads automatically in the background, it does not actually install or protect your device until the browser is fully restarted.

To stay safe, please save your work and restart Google Chrome immediately. Restarting Chrome will apply the patch and secure your computer against this critical exploit.

Thanks for letting all of us know about the threat. My computer shut down on me yesterday, but then I realized that I had not noticed that it was to update. In response to this article, I again restarted my computer, for safety reasons.

Just wanted you to know that I watched a video on FB last evening about a woman who is highly educated that fell for the scam and her bank saved her from making a mistake by saying that she was the 3rd person to come into the bank and ask to close their accounts. I then received the “same” scam email today, so I took a screenshot on my phone and forwarded it to my family. After that, I clicked on the three dots to the right of “Unsubscribe” and blocked them and reported it as scam. The scam is from “GEEK TECH”. Everyone needs to be aware that it is dangerous!
