You don’t need no stinkin’ attachments

It came to our attention this week that many people still send large attachments via email. That can be a problem. Some ISPs have a limit on the size of attachments you can send. Web mail providers (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.) have limits too.

Since most people have high-speed Internet access – it’s tempting to send a 40MB or 50MB file via email. But many times this will end up with your mail being rejected by the recipient domain — or rejected by your ISP. Also, keep in mind that Google Gmail does not allow you to send executables – exes – not even when you zip them.

There are better ways to send large files. We found a service a few days ago (and tested it) that allows you to share files with whomever you want with a bare minimum of hassle. It’s called Tinyupload. And despite its diminutive name – it allows you to upload and share files, as many as you want – up to 50MB each.

It’s as easy as 1-2-3.

1. Go to http://tinyupload.com
2. Select the file you want to upload
3. Click the upload button

After your file has been uploaded — you’ll get a link to the file you uploaded. You can send that link to anyone you like – as many people – as often as you like – and they can download the file from that link. There are no restrictions on how many files you can upload or how many people you can share them with. It’s easy.

So you don’t need no stinkin’ attachments or ISP rules or restrictions. Share your large files the easy way….

Use Tinyupload.com and share your files without the hassle and without the restrictions.

Thank you TC for the info. I send lot’s of photos to my family in U$A and cannot understand why each photo is 3.5 3.6mb. I call that a large file but I use SHRINCPIC which I got from my news letter. This compresses the photo from say…eg:350kb to 90kb.

It sure does not make sense to me. So, what the heck happened here? I want to use Tinyupload but can’t.

I opened it in AOL and while uploading it claimed to be doing so in a continuous loop with no graphic of progress. It worked through FireFox. I accidentally typed “www.tinyuploads.com” in Firefox and it took me to an almost identical free site which appeared to have much better features. Could you check them out and report back if they are safe? Thanks from one of your fans….Eric
