I can add a few that make me scream:

Could of, should of for could have, should have

    Less for fewer

    Your for you’re (you are)

Me and my brother, sister. Terrible! Self NEVER comes first. I heard a lawyer say “me and my wife”. Where did he go to school???

The grammar used by speakers on radio and TV is dreadful and I am afraid that this is where our children are learning grammar. Certainly it isn’t in school, where it used to be when I was growing up, back in the dark ages. have heard only sentence that really headed me for the grave though, It was “If I’da knowed you was going, I woulda went”.

    News reporters often use “artopsy”.
There is no “R” in “autopsy”.

Sorry, that’s the way we converse here in the Appalachians! Seriously though, there are many
phrases and words that DO cause my hair to gray faster. As long as we get our point across, I suppose we won’t
change things. Listening to some inner city kids on television interviews is appalling however.

A few that I hear frequently are
    real-a-tor instead of real-tor
    jewl-er-y instead of jew-el-ry
ValentiMe’s dey instead of ValentiNe’s Day

I wonder if some the people who mispronounce those worda,
actually spell and write them correctly?

Oops! I spelled “day” incorrectly. I’ll blame it on my typing :0))

I simply go into seizures when I hear
the word “Nuclear” pronounced “NOO-KEWW-LER” instead of “NOO-KLEE-AR”!!! I hear this word mispronounced about every single day….and most of the time the error is made by PROFESSIONAL people…where DID they get their education? Or how about those on t.v. like newscasters, etc. UGH!!! Take some classes people, learn to speak our English language properly.
