Browser Wars: Chrome wins again

OK, you’re like me and you like things simple, right? Right! Here’s some scores you can sink your eyeballs into:

Chrome 24
Firefox 18
Opera 12
Internet Explorer 10

Higher is better. But nothing seems to upset people more than having their favorite browser denigrated. So if your favorite browser is Firefox, you will say the test is skewed. If you like IE you will say the tests are meaningless.

Still, more and more tests are proving that Chrome is the fastest browser. EB will disagree, as she’s involved in a long love affair with Microsoft and Internet Explorer. Well, maybe you are too.

In case you’re interested in how those scores above came to be, you’ll want to read this article and how the tests were done.

Fair and square? You decide.

My favorite browser is Chrome. If something comes along that is faster or better, I’ll switch. Until then, Chrome’s my browser.

After being ‘forced’ to add Chrome as my browser I found it to be a pain in the butt because there are a lot more ads using Chrome.

I continue to use both IE and Chrome.

I started using Google Chrome about 6 months ago and I hardly ever go back on Internet Explorer. I find Chrome easy to use and has a lot of good features so why go back. I don’t think there are anymore ad’s than Explorer or Firefox etc. I am staying Chrome.

I use both Firefox and Chrome. I like Firefox better. When I’m making extensive use of Roboform or watching lots of videos, I use Firefox because in Chrome the Roboform icon is way up at the top right corner and some videos won’t play. I like Chrome because it keeps up with the endless flash updates.

I’m with Darcy. I know what I like and I’m not in any particular hurry anyway. Currently using IE9 and happy with it.

I’m with Darcy, also. I guess I’ll have to switch to Chrome in November, when IE will be no more.

I’ve been using chrome for about six months now.I was using IE9 before and had problems with my Pc freezing or taking forever to do anything.A lot of my friends think the site they’re on is messing up when it’s the browser that’s causing the problem. firefox is fast, but I don’t like it as much a chrome.also on chrome you can Import your favorites list from your old browser. I’ll never go back to IE.

When I got a new computer I started using Chrome…and I thought it took over my whole computer…everything is chrome, google, chrome, google. I deleted it and am using IE who knows what is on the horizon. Google used to have an add on to IE where I could have my web pages transcribed automatically but the add on has disappeared and if I want auto translations I have to switch but I am fighting it.

I am jealous of all of you; of all the things you can do. I am still on DIAL UP INTERNET because a company called Eastlink, who was given the contract by our Provincial government, to hook up rural people, still, after about 5 years, has not fulfilled that contract citing all kinds of reasons; there are over a thousand of us still waiting. They have even been paid; interesting isn’t it? I went to Firefox (took 6 hours to download) and find they are faster than IE but I don’t know the reason because I am on DIAL UP in NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA – maybe if everyone started writing Premier Darryl Dexter about it – something would get done – but I have been doing that for 2 years and nothing yet! So, I just wanted to get this out there; maybe more voices will help – since I like privacy and don’t do face book! T.

Hey, I am here in the USA and sounds like we are in the same boat. I guess you answered me on one thing at least. The time to download something else. I live in a very rural area and do not want to have to pay the price of satellite service since we are on a fixed income. Also not sure if all of my programs will work on Chrome or something different. Good luck with getting anything done. We have tried and tried to get our telephone company to offer high speed internet to us since we live where there are too few people for them to make a buck.

    Please help.
I have dial up and have used IE forever. I am now interested in seeing what something else has to offer. I am technologically challenged and have no one to help me learn new things and wondering can I keep the IE and use Chrome, too? Does any other dinosaurs out there use chrome that has dial up?
