If you answer a lot of email like we do, or find yourself typing the text over and over again, like “Yours truly” or “Get lost”, then you’re frustrated because Windows Clipboard can only store one thing at a time. That’s why, if you’re typing the same text over and over again, you need some kind of clipboard extender. Well, we have some kind of clipboard extender. Talk about serendipity. It’s your lucky day. It’s time to buy a lottery ticket.

For example, EB constantly emails me. Rather than actually taking time to answer her email, I just use xNeat Clipboard Manager to send her a canned response. This keeps her happy because she thinks I’m actually typing these answers,  and it ensures my paycheck each week. If there’s any money left with which to pay me, that is.

Ahem….things are tough all over in these troubled times. But at least I don’t have to waste my time answering EB each time she writes. I just open up my xNeat Clipboard and paste in an appropriate response.

Here’s an example of how I placate EB with my  canned responses. Instead of wiping the sweat off my beaten brow and pecking around the keyboard, I simply fire-up my trusty xNeat Clipboard Manager and find a response that fits the bill and paste it, like this:

Dear TC,

Did you forget my grammar lesson today? When are you going to sing for me?

Your friend,

Dear EB,

I’m busy. I don’t have time for your grammar lesson today. Maybe tomorrow. And, no! I’m not going to sing for you!

Your friend,

Dear TC,

I’m getting aggravated. I need to know how to use you’re, your, their, they’re, and there. You’re late for my grammar lesson. You promised to sing for me.

All of her mails are answered, EB is happy and I’m happy. I can get some work done. See? It’s win-win situation.

Now that we’ve demonstrated some of the wonderful things you can do with a clipboard manager, let us say that xNeat Clipboard Manager is one of the slickest ones we’ve ever used. You can even adjust the number of clips you want it to save. xNeat will save your clips for you for as long as you like. Certainly sometime next week, EB will write me a similar email and I’ll just pick out a nice reply clip and paste it in and fire back an answer. It takes only a second and keeps her in line and happy. And I can get back to mining salt or drinking Bloody Marys depending on what day it is.

Yes, I know, I’m gesticulating while I babble. So, to prevent you from being totally irritated with me, and avoid hearing all of your sighs, I will bow out and present to you Mr. xNeat and his crew, who will tell you about xNeat Clipboard Manager. Take it away xNeat boys and girls:

“Windows clipboard has the disadvantage that you can only copy once before pasting, xNeat Clipboard Manager solves such problem by keeping track of all your copied items and giving you quick access to them.

xNeat clipboard manager is handy and very simple to use. it captures clipboard items as they are copied to the Windows Clipboard, and you can simply bring up a menu containing all the previously copied items and select the item you want to paste from it using a hot key.

For regularly used text you can make it permanent in xNeat clipboard manager’s menu by right clicking on it, then select Make Sticky, you can also delete any item as well.”

So short and sweet. You’d think I’d learn from these folks. Anyway, there’s a little video on the xNeat site you can watch that shows you how the program works. If you’d rather just read about and/or download xNeat Clipboard Manager, you may do so by visiting the xNeat Clipboard Manager home page. It’s one of the coolest free clipboard managers we’ve seen – that’s why it’s a Cloudeight Freeware pick… Duh!
