Why not Spring Creators Update?

Microsoft releases major Windows 10 updates twice each year. Normally these major updates are given descriptive names like Anniversary Update, Creators Update, and Fall Creators Update. During the testing phase, Microsoft and many Windows sites referred to the April 2018 Update as the “Spring Creators Update”. The name didn’t stick though. In an effort to help people keep track of the updates and the date they were released they have decided to call the upcoming update “April 2018 Update”. It will still be “Version 1803” however.

More information

The April 2018 Update was delayed for several weeks because of a serious bug in the update that was causing BSODs (Blue Screens of Death) on the computers of some of people who were helping test the update. However, Microsoft says they now have the problem fixed and the April 2018 Update (Version 1803) is ready to be released to Windows 10 users.
