Windows 10’s Patch Tuesday’s Printer Snafus Have Been Fixed

Windows 10 Printer Problems

Windows 10 users will receive a patch for the printer problems caused by Microsoft’s recent batch of security updates and patches. Windows 10 users will automatically receive the fix in July. However, you can download and install the patch manually.

The recent cumulative updates for Windows 10 (Version 2004, Version 1909 and Version 1903) that were released on June 2020’s Patch Tuesday caused major problems for those using Ricoh, Brother, Canon, Kyocera, and HP printers.

Microsoft says: “[KB4567523] updates an issue that might prevent certain printers from printing, generate print errors, or cause apps and print spoolers to close unexpectedly…”

As mentioned, this fix won’t be delivered automatically to your computer until July. But you don’t have to wait; you can download and install the patch KB4567523 manually.

Here is the direct download link for KB4567523 for both 64-bit and 32-bit (x86) computers

After downloading the update package, double-click the .msu file to install the update. After installing the patch, reboot your computer to complete the fix.

Microsoft says that you should install this emergency patch only if your PC is affected by printer issues or if you are unable to print a document as PDF.

Don’t know if you have a 32-bit or 64-bit computer?

If you don’t know if you have a 64-bit or 32-bit PC, here’s how to find out:

  1. Type ABOUT in taskbar search
  2. When you see “About your PC” appear in the search results, press Enter.
  3. Under “Device specifications”, next to “System type” it will tell you if you have a 64-bit or 32-bit (x86) system.

I have been having problems with my HP printer. Things that I have been able to print, I no longer can print. I was able to print an e-mail picture on regular paper. I tried to print the same picture on photo paper and it kept jamming up. I even opened a new folder of photo paper. I still had the same problem. I kept thinking that one would work, but ruined eight pieces of photo paper. They do not tear when I take them out. It is an HP Envy Photo 7855 Printer which is only a few months old. It was working great. I have always been able to print family pictures from Facebook. I no longer can do that either. I tried to download the patch, but I was not able to do that. When I clicked on the site for the patch, several choices came up. I tried each of them to no avail. Thanks.

There is only one download for each type of Windows 10. You have 32-bit, 64-bit, etc. There are not multiple downloads for a single system type. In our article, we tell you how to find out what system type you’re using.

We don’t offer updates from our site, they come from the Microsoft Catalog

I have a 64 bit system (HP). Windows 10 Home; Version 21H1 (OS Build 19044.1645) I’ve been unable to print pdf files for about 3 weeks. The download will not install. The message I get when I try to install the download is:

    X Windows Update Standalone Installer

The update is not applicable to your computer

(2020-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems (KB4567523)) is what I’ve downloaded.
