I know some of our regular readers raise their eyebrows in amazement as I sometime butcher the English language; I vow to get better. With that being said, I’ve discovered a site that will make you laugh as you learn grammar, spelling, and other things you should know — but apparently think I don’t.

The purpose of this article, disguised as a computer tip, is twofold:

1. lt demonstrates that, even at my advance age, teetering on cusp of the winter of my life, I’m still trying to learn; what the success rate is, I don’t really know. You’ll have to be the final judge of my new-found language skills.

2. This site can help you with your grammar and spelling; if you have any sense of humor at all, you’ll laugh while learning. Since this is a Web site and is accessible via the Internet, and the Internet is accessible from a connected computer, it qualifies as a computer tip. Do not argue semantics with me; my logic is much keener than my grammar.

Now, with all the bloviating nearing unbearable, I hereby announce to you the site that can teach you and amuse you at the same time. It’s called The Oatmeal (surprisingly!) and you are invited to hone your language skills while exercising your funny bone by visiting The Oatmeal right now.

Brown sugar and cream not necessary. If you don’t think it’s amusing, I cannot help you.

Syonara, mi amigos y amigas.
