“According to a company news release, Google just made the horrible mistake of renewing their contract with these evildoers.

I just spent a couple of hours removing one of their so-called products, “SweetPacks”, from a friend’s computer. Prior to this, the friend had suffered loss of time and work amounting to days over a period of MONTHS, due to involuntary redirection of browser searches by the unconscionable garbage produced by this trash heap masquerading as a reputable company.

The uninstall directions on their web site DO NOT WORK. Removal of their abominable and stinking excrement required use of adwcleaner, Malwarebytes pro, and hand resetting of all browser defaults including their unauthorized alteration of Chrome, Firefox AND Internet Explorer. A final scan using Hitmanpro and another by CCleaner were also needed. A total waste of three hours of expensive professional time.

In my opinion, the president of a company which could make such an annoyance and which could potentially waste the time of millions of people for no purpose except their enrichment, is an example of human waste.

The company should be sued by a mass action law suit and if I had my way, people who make software like this would be in jail for a very long time and forced to assist victims of similar scammy programs during their incarceration.

I am absolutely appalled that Google renewed a contact with these scumbags and I urge everyone to write Google and strenuously object to it.

If you have any doubt about this, Google “SweetPacks” and “malware” (no quotes) to learn what it is about.”

Here’s what we say, Mary:

The problem is.. you cannot easily sue IncrediMail, they are tucked away safely in Israel, so they can do just about anything they want. if tens of thousands wrote Google, it might make Google listen, but we’re pretty sure Google makes a ton of money from this deal too . Guess who the other losers are? The companies and businesses who pay to have their products advertised in IncrediMail are, for the most part, falling on “deaf ears (and eyes) when they place advertisements and toolbars in IncrediMail… most who use it learn to ignore the ads; maybe because they are too busy trying to clean up their computers from all the other garbage and distractions installed by IncrediMail.

We’re going to be doing some extensive testing and we hope to show exactly what happens when someone installs IncrediMail – and exactly what kinds of malware IncrediMail installs. We’ll publish our findings, whatever they are, as soon as we have completed our testing.

I have been using Incredimail for years with no problems at all. In fact, I remember that you once endorsed it so what is the problem? I think some users are not careful enough when they download or install “things” from the Internet and then wonder why their computer is compromised. DON’T install anything you don’t know enough about or if you do create a Restore Point on your computer first then you can go back to the earlier time before you installed something. I will still use Incredimal as I like to send “pretty” emails to my friends.

    Hi Carole…

We’d very much like to offer you a free evaluation of your computer using out Cloudeight Direct Computer Care service — I think you’d be surprised at the things you have on your computer that IncrediMail installed that you are not aware of.

Just contact us and we’ll set up a free evaluation session for you — and you can see for yourself what has been done to your computer.

    Let us know!

    Thank you!

I have used Incredimail in the past and would use it again were it not for my current Operating System is Linux Ubuntu. If Incredimail were to accept Ubuntu I would jump in the chance to use it again. As I recall when you download you’re given the choice of the reccomended install or the custom ones. So you have a choice of what other then incredimail itself to install of your comouter. If you make the wrong choice it is your fault not Incredimails.

And if you were using Windows and IncrediMail, we’d offer you the same free computer evaluation that we’ve offered others. We’ve had so many IncrediMail users who were absolutely appalled and shocked by what had been installed on their computers without their knowledge or permission. But you’re lucky — you have Linux and IncrediMail won’t be coming out with a version for Linux anytime soon — there’s not enough money in it.

I have been using incredimail for over 5 years and have not had any trouble.I use it on 2 pc’s XP and 7. You do have to be careful what you download. I use Google and IE. I don’t like mystart so just remove it with no problem. I guess like everything else it works for some and not others.

Regardless of whether you like or dislike Incredimail I am simply appalled at the language used by Mary to criticize the product. Mary, Incredimail may or may not be a reputable company but there is more trash and garbage in your language than Incredimail could possibly put in your computer.

        Hi There
You are probably right and there is probably more garbage than I would care to have, but I am not savvy enough to deal with it. What I was trying to say is, that so far, garbage or no garbage, Incrdimail doesn’t interfere with my day to day computer function.
The thing is, I’ve learned that everything comes at a price and quite frankly I can’t afford a tech at the moment.
Btw, just for kicks I did try and replace Incredimail with Wikmail but the use is so “unfriendly user” that I gave up.

I sure don’t know why you are trashing Incredimail now! You highly praised it before? In fact you are the reason that I use Incredimail today because you said that it was just great? Why the change now that people have downloaded Incredimail onto their computers because you told them that it was the greatest? If i remember right you recomended Incredimail because your Stationery would work with Incredimail and that is why I use Incredimail today and I am sure that other people took your advice also. So don’t make us feel stupid for using Incredimail when it is your fault for telling us about it to begin with. I would love to know why you had a change of heart about Incredimail now that a whole lot of us are using it because of you?????? Is it because you found a way to use your stationery without help from Incredimail????

I can’t believe that you can remember what we wrote 3 years ago, but not what we have written in the last 2 years, including this from a couple of weeks ago:

      https://thundercloud.net/infoave/new/yes-daniela-we-do-flip-flop/

I guess it’s true – people see what they want to see and disregard the rest. That is why so many are willing to allow so much malware to be installed on their computers so they can send a few pretty emails and have flying birds tell them they have new email. Regardless whether you use the paid version or the free version, if you use IncrediMail, you have malware on your computer.

If you’d like us to prove this to you, we offer you a free computer evaluation — we’ll connect to your computer and show you — right in front of your eyes, what this program has installed on your computer. An evaluation means we show you what we find but do not alter your system or make any changes or repairs.

If you’re so certain of IncrediMail’s innocence, you should not have any problem with this.

Your comments about our stationery, aren’t even worthy of comment.

I can’t believe how selective most people’s memories are. I also remember when Cloudeight did not endorse Incredimail and when and why they changed their minds and then again when advised us to stop using it because of company changes in policies. If folks really kept up with what TC and Darcy says along about programs we have chosen to use we would be 100% better off. If you don’t have their background and experience don’t be so quick to blame. The world is all about changes and everything has the ability to change from bad to good and good to bad. The one thing in the computer world I have seen that stays honest and dependable is Cloudeigh, TC and Darcy.
Love, hugs and kudos to them.
Anyway, the point is if you chose not to take their last advice to get rid of Incredimail, then don’t blame them, Incredimail or any one else. Take responsibility and blame yourself.
Thank you Tc and Darcy sending much love, hugs and respect.

We have gone over and over and over this stuff about us recommending IncrediMail – in fact, there’s a big write up on this site where we answered this. At one time, IncrediMail was really trying to clean up their act, and we were working with them directly and they were taking our suggestions. Since then, the company has changed hands several times and we have not had contact with them, nor have we recommended them since the company has changed hands. Again, we’d be glad to schedule you for a free Cloudeight Direct Computer Care evaluation — and we’ll show you what IncrediMail has done, and is doing to your computer.

If you prefer to believe that all is on the up and up with IncrediMail, that’s your prerogative. We can remember discussing “SmileyCentral” with folks who were convinced of its innocence. It’s amazing to us what people will put up with in exchange for some cute graphics and pretty emails. The trend of IncrediMail is to become more and more controlling — now they’re in the Web browser business.

Since they are located in Israel, it’s very hard to pursue them legally, although soon it will become apparent to most people that IncrediMail has gone the way of FunWebProducts and Ask.com (and their infamous toolbar). Time will prove us right. Again.

If you are certain that IncrediMail has installed nothing untoward on your system, then it should be no issue for you to allow us to connect to your computer and check your computer for malware. It would only take 15 minutes, and you might be as shocked as other IncrediMail users were when they saw the amount of malware that IndrediMail had installed on their computers. This is not even mentioning the 3,000 to 4,000 registry changes it makes.

Let us know if you would like the free evaluation. We’re 99% sure you’ll be shocked.

Is this just an issue with the free versions? I’d like to know if they also package up nasty-ware into their PAID versions? I maintain my system on a regular basis, have never had any toolbars install themselves, and no nasties on my computer. I run virus and malware protection more than regularly, and am behind a firewall. Still, I am curious about the said “browser redirects”. Isn’t that something that happens with many websites and is not necessarily a bad thing? Redirect info is the most confusing to me.

I love your Stationery and have been using it for years. So sorry that you took that the wrong way. When you started saying that Incredimail was great, it was because your ststionery would work in Incredimail and I like your stationery so much that I downloaded Incredimail so that I could use your Stationery. At the time this is what you were saying. I would have never known about Incredimail if not for your information. I have no doubt that Incredimail is bad. When I downloaded it, it took over my computer. I really don’t like it but I feel like I am stuck. I understand that it is impossible to remove all the software. Is this true? If so, what other program can I use that your stationery and gifs would work with?

I am another long time user of IncrediMail Premium with a lifetime subscription and I also have downloaded your stationery to use with the program. I have been very satisfied with this program but am now getting very nervous and worried about exactly what has been installed on my computer and exactly what it is doing. I would very much like to have this information prior to uninstalling the program.

Blah, blah, blah. I too have used Incredimail and upgraded it. I have had minor problems with it that was easily solved. I have used it on 3 computers and except for small issues mentioned I am quite satisfied with it. You all seem to have a campaign against extra stuff being downloaded with any program. I agree that the additional programs loaded on your computer is unethical but that is the way just about every download site does. Anytime I download a program I look at what is being downloaded and decline it all plus I never accept their typical download mode because you can bet their will be hidden programs. You can’t fight city hall because they are all doing it. And no I’m not interested in your free evaluation.

You’re free to use whatever you like. We’re just trying to help people — there are enough computers out there being used for billboards to make already rich companies richer.

IncrediMail hides in Israel, virtually untouchable legally.

If you’d like to make a personal side bet that I could find numerous instances of malware on your computer, write me privately. I’m not guessing here, I know.

We’ll be publishing our test results — a brand new install of Windows – scanned showing no malware. And we’ll show the same computer after installing IncrediMail — and prove what we are saying

Unfortunately, Malwarebytes has suddenly stopped detecting several of the more ubiquitous malware found in the wild, and we are not sure why — potential litigation? We have no idea why it stopped detecting the dreaded Ask Toolbar as malware, or even more dreaded Babylon toolbar…but it has, for now.

So use whatever you like. If you know it all, then you can’t learn anything. Maybe you can teach us something. If you have something you know you’d like to teach us, we’re always open to learning things…because we don’t know it all and never claimed to.

But we know one thing – every single computer we have worked on where IncrediMail was installed, was loaded with malware.

And that doesn’t even take into consideration the several thousand registry entries IncrediMail makes to Windows systems. You can easily prove that by uninstalling IncrediMail with Revo or Geek…watch how many registry entries are left behind by IncrediMail’s incredible uninstaller.

Use what you like, but you have nothing to backup your claim other than you scan your computer regularly for malware – you don’t even say what program or programs you use to do this? Malwarebytes doesn’t find them. I can tell you that for sure.

I wish to add another comment. As some of Incredimail users pointed out almost all other software products include unwanted programs, (Norton Antivirus is one example)!! I wonder if your animosity towards Incredimail is the fact that it is an Israeli prodocut. Don’t I detect a note of antisemitism in your critics??
For you information the current company who took over is called PERION, and guess what??!! The head office is located right here in good old USA!!
Our main office: FOLLOWINT IS THE ADDRESS

15809 Bear Creek Parkway, Suite 320

We didn’t write Mary’s comment, we agreed in general with what she said. The “animosity”, of which you speak, is Mary’s not ours.

Attitudes such as yours are implicitly dangerous–“everyone else is doing it, so what’s wrong with IncrediMail is doing it”. I don’t know whether your statement about Norton is correct or not, in any case we think about as highly of Norton as we do of IncrediMail; we have never ever recommended it. I could give you a litany of software products which don’t feel the need to trick users into turning their computers into money conduits for the company, but I have no intention of becoming embroiled in an illogical argument with you.

We mentioned that IncrediMail was safely tucked away in Israel, not as an anti-Semitic statement, but because when companies have home offices in OTHER countries, it’s very hard to bring class-action lawsuits against them. It’s very costly and requires attorneys who are licensed to practice in the country in which the home offices of a corporation are located. We could have said ” safely tucked away in Ghana” or Germany or Poland… It’s too bad you have to raise the ugly specter of prejudice in your statement, as your way of somehow denigrating us. Actually, it only serves to make you look picayune.

Perion Network has offices in the USA and other countries, like Toyota has car factories in the USA, but that doesn’t make Toyota is an American company.

Perion Network LTD is based in Israel:

      Company Overview
      Company Name PERION NETWORK LTD.
      Company Address
      ORR TOWERS
      4 HANCHOSHET ST.
      TEL AVIV 69710

We mentioned Israel only because it’s very difficult to bring class-actions suits against foreign-based companies, so it’s highly unlikely that any class-action lawsuit against PERION NETWORK, LTD would be initiated in the USA, regardless of the amount of malware installed by IncrediMail’s installation bundle.

We agreed with Mary because every single computer we’ve worked on that had IncrediMail (at least several dozen) also had an extensive amount of malware. We will have proof soon — we will go oave and over our texts and we’ll be publishing findings soon. These will be facts, not speculation.

PERION NETWORK LTD is publically traded on NASDAQ. You can get more information on the company from them. I’m sure there website does a great job of making them appear to be an American company, but they’re not.

This was Anna’s reply and we’ll let her own words speak for themselves 🙂

Based on your own page, most of the people who wrote to you didn’t find anything wrong with Incredimail. Mary was the only one!! I wonder why? Perhaps she is more computer challenged than even I am!!
Under the guise of being honest you lure people into thinking that you are not biased. What’s the matter, did Perion refuse to pay you??!! I also noticed that as soon as someone disagrees with you he is labelled “picayune”. That comment wasn’t called for. I may not be computer savvy but surely I am entitled to my own opinion. And for your information any foreign company that wants to do business in the USA has to comply with USA regulations which includes, but is not limited to Perion Toyota and Cloud Eight.
This message is sent to you on Incredimail stationary. Oh and I have included sound from Incredimail,
        I hope you don’t have a fit!!

I’d like to know what program(s) you are using to find all these problems. I’d also like to know how long this has been a problem.

I’ve been using Incredimail ever since Windows 7 came out. I installed Windows 8 last November via a clean install. I installed IncrediMail & Letter Creator (lifetime license) at that time via a custom install. I have NEVER updated it. I run Malwarebytes pro & SuperAntiSpyware Pro and haven’t found anything.

I see you say that Malwarebytes doesn’t find anything. So what program(s) are you using to find this stuff?

It would be hard for me to setup a time for you to check my computer because I have some issues and can’t guarantee when I’ll be at the computer. Also if you found something and I wanted it fixed, I would want it fixed right then. I do have a key that I purchased back when I first installed Windows 8. I was having some issues but a clean install fixed it so I didn’t use my key. I don’t really want to waste the key though unless I have really have to.

The thought of having to find another email program is annoying. I know you can setup Windows Mail but I don’t want to pay to have that done every time I get a new computer.

I forgot to mention that I have over 1000 .eml files from lesson groups…well over 1000 tutorials in .eml format that I use in the PSP group that I co-own and head moderate for. And I have saved all the group’s picks in .eml.

I have Outlook on my computer as part of Office 365. I just tried to open some of the .eml files in Outlook and I get an error. If I can’t open the .eml files in Outlook then that’s definitely not an option. These files are a necessity for my group.

What’s the sense of you reading something three years ago and then not reading anything we’ve written about it since? It seems to me you’re spot reading to support your argument. We haven’t written any favorable article about IncrediMail in 2 years, and we have written several negative ones. If you prefer folks who recommend something and the stick with it no matter how many times the programs changes or the company changes hands, then you’re on the wrong site. We’re not going stand by something we endorsed 3 years ago just because we endorsed. It the program goes south, we are not going to stand behind it. If those are the kinds of people you want to follow then there are plenty out there who would rather endanger your computer than retract a recommendation.

So don’t trust what we say. Trust what we said 2 years ago. Then blame us because you have not bothered to read anything we’ve written about IncrediMail in the last 2 years. If IncrediMail hadn’t become what it is today, and stayed as it was 3 years ago, we’d still be recommending it. But it hasn’t, and we won’t.
