Three Cool Windows Secrets
These tips work on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
1 Copying the content of Windows dialog box
Do you want copy the contents of Windows dialog box? Just click anywhere inside the box, press Ctrl + C, open Notepad and press Ctrl+V.
2 Navigate to your “home” folder in Windows
Back in the old days of Windows XP, your home folder was “Documents & Settings”. But in the new era of Windows 7, Windows 8.x and Windows 10 your home folder is the default folder for your username which contains folders like “My Pictures”, “My Videos”, “Documents” etc. For instance:
C:\Users\Your User Name\Documents and that’s cool. You can get there by typing that in a run dialog if you are so inclined. But Would you like to get to your “home folder” faster?
I thought so!
Press the Windows Key + R and type “.” in the Run dialog, then press Enter. It takes you right to your home folder – just like that. Pretty slick!
3 Want to see your system information?
Press Windows Key + R
In the run dialog type MSINFO32
Press Enter.
If you go through each category, you will be amazed at how much information about your computer you’ll discover.
