How to Change the Background Picture on the Login Screen
Recently we received a question from Lin, who, after reading our article on fixing the blurry picture on the login screen, wanted to know how to change the background picture on the login screen. So, for Lin and everyone else who wants to know how to change the login screen background picture – this is for you.
How to change the login screen background on Windows 10
1.) Right-click on a blank area of your desktop and click “Personalize”.
2.) In the Personalization settings dialog, click on “Lock screen” in the menu on the left.
3.) In the Lock screen dialog, under “Background” click the down arrow to expand the menu.
4.) You’ll see you have three choices in the dropdown menu…
Spotlight – This choice allows Windows to change your Lock screen (and your login screen if you choose) frequently with images from Bing.
Picture – The “Picture” choice allows you to pick any images from your computer to use as your Lock screen and your Login screen background. Just click “Browse” to find the picture you want to use as your Lock screen and login screen background.
Slideshow – The “Slideshow” selection allows you to choose a folder of pictures that will constantly rotate at an interval of your choice – to serve as your Lock screen and (if you choose) your login screen background.
5.) After you’ve made your selection, if you want to use your Lock screen selection on your login screen too, scroll down the Lock screen page and turn the switch under “Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen” to “On”. (Note: We call it the login screen, and Microsoft calls it the sign-in screen – but a rose by any other name you know…)
And now you know how to change the background picture on your login screen.
