We’re going to have to explain this site very well because the site doesn’t explain itself at all. I guess they figure you’ll figure it out or you won’t. You gotta love that laid-back attitude.

Well, anyway, as we say, let’s get to the point before you think that there isn’t one. Have you ever purchased a software program that allows you to install it on more than one computer and wanted to copy your license key from one computer to another? As you probably know you can’t copy and paste from one computer to another. If you don’t know this, then skip this article. We’ll assume that most of you know this though. So there was no good way of getting your license key from one computer to another other than emailing it to yourself which is often not convenient – is it? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could copy from one computer and copy/paste it on another?

Hey Paste it! Yes that’s the name of today’s site of the week. You can copy any text (sorry no pictures, graphics, etc. folks, just text) from one computer to another. You can copy something on your smartphone and grab it with your iPad. You can copy something on any computer or Internet-connected device and paste it on another. And this is not only good for software license keys but signature files you use in your email program, links to favorite sites, and all kinds of stuff that escape me at the moment which, I’m sure, will come back to haunt me when I’m done writing this.

Wouldn’t It Be Nice was not only the title of a Beach Boys’ song, it’s also the theme song for our site of the week. Not really. If you copy and paste as much as we do, then you’ll see the usefulness of our site of the week. If you don’t, you won’t. And if you don’t know how to copy and paste at all, oh dear!. You need to see our old, very old, but still useful tutorial on copy and paste here.

Hey Paste It! allows you to copy text from one computer, smartphone, laptop, iPad, etc. and retrieve it on another Internet-connected device. Just visit our site of the week “Hey Paste It”, paste in some text – a link will be generated and simple three character clip number will be assigned. Go to your other device or computer, go to http://heypasteit.com/ and type in your clip number and there is your clip. Copy and paste it on your other computer or device. It’s handier than you think it is. Just wait until you need it, you’ll see!

How could you miss the magic butterfly? You have to have a 78-inch 3D-HD monitor to see it. Oops – we forgot to mention that!

The site does not require registration or three-letter pins etc. When you enter text you want to copy from another computer a clip number is instantly generated and appears at the bottom of the dialog. It appears the site is not working correctly – or at least it wasn’t this morning.
